Parents and Players that wish to participate in the NCBSA Travel programs must read the following Policy documents to understand how the programs work and the player commitment that is required.

Please read and print and review them as they answer many questions you may have.

The Travel Player Commitment letter needs to be signed by each player. Players must be registered in the Spring Recreational Progam to particiapte in any Travel Programs.

U8, U9, & U10 Travel Baseball Tryouts for Spring & Summer 2012

TRYOUTS ARE ONLY FOR SPRING AND SUMMER TEAMS (SEE DETAILS BELOW). THE NCBSA WILL BE HOLDING FALL TRAVEL BASEBALL TRYOUTS OUTSIDE DURING JUNE 2012. (DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED)

TRAVEL TRYOUTS DETAILS

Who: U8 Summer

There is No Spring U8 Travel Team- you must be 8 years old as of April 30, 2012—If you are 7 years old on that date you are not eligible to tryout or to play – there are no exceptions to this rule.
Remember: age is not determined by your age as of the time of the season, rather it is your age as of April 30, 2012. If you are playing on the U8 team in the Summer you would be playing U8 on the same team in the Fall as well.

When: February 10 (Friday) from 6:30 to 8:00 PM

Who: U9 Spring and Summer--must be 9 years old as of April 30, 2012

When: February 12 (Sunday) from 6:30 to 8:00 PM

Where: ProSwing in PortChester (see below)

Spring team will continue into the Fall. Summer players are not eligible to play on Spring team. Summer teams are expected to have active Spring training which will include weekly practices and pre-season scrimmages. Tryout is NOT for Fall only players.

Notes for all Tryouts

We are only having this one set of tryouts and expect to create the teams shortly thereafter. Please attempt to tryout with your appropriate age group. However if you are not available to come down on your designated night you are okay to come down on one of the other nights. But you must attend one of these tryouts to be considered for Spring or Summer Travel Baseball.

Tryouts for Fall Travel Baseball will take place this June.

For the 2012 season: Spring teams will continue with the same roster into the Fall and Summer teams will continue with the same roster into the Fall as well. There will be new tryouts in early June for FALL only teams. (this would be for players who did not play on the Spring or Summer teams and want to be considered for Fall Travel Baseball.)

WHO: OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS OF THE WPBA AND WBA AS WELL AS OTHER WESTCHESTER AND CONNECTICUT TRAVEL TEAMS. TEAMS MUST ABIDE BY APRIL 30^TH AGE CUT-OFFS FOR EACH AGE GROUP AND MEET TOWN TRAVEL TEAM STANDARDS.

WHEN: MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, MAY 25^th to the 28th (GAMES WILL BE PLAYED THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND WITH FINALS ON MONDAY THE 28TH.)

WHERE: CHAPPAQUA, NY—EXPECTED TO PLAY AT GEDNEY PARK AND MILLWOOD TOWN FIELDS.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: WE CURRENTLY PLAN TO HAVE 8 TO 10 TEAMS PER AGE GROUP (4 to 6 in the U8 age group).

Each team will play a minimum of 3 games and those that play in the playoffs and championship game will have 4 or 5 games. We expect to have other fun events like a home run derby during the down time.

Tournament will use WPBA rules, except for the U9 Age we will poll teams two weeks prior to the tournament, (majority rules), and consider allowing 4 players in outfield. If we allow 4 players in outfield, teams can still play with 3 person outfield if desired. (U8 will play with 4 players in the outfield).

As in the past, when possible, we will attempt to schedule around other sport conflicts for teams if necessary.

Entry Fee and Registration: The tournament entry fee is $450 per team. This fee includes all umpire fees, field fees and baseballs for the weekend. We are taking registrations now, so please mail in your registration ASAP to insure a spot. Schedule will be adjusted in the event of rain and fees will be scaled back on a pro rata basis based on games played and field usage.
